Lent is observed as a period of forty days prior to Easter (excluding Sundays) and starts on Ash Wednesday. Traditionally it has been a time of spiritual preparation though prayer, repentance, giving and self-sacrifice. You can follow along with this online version - or download a PDF file. Printed copies of this Lenten Devotional are also available at KPC.
What better time could there be as we approach the death and resurrection of Jesus than to pray for those that you would love to see the Lord bring to salvation.
Make a list of ten people that you would faithfully pray for each day to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Read each of the scripture verses below and put them into the words of a prayer for each of the persons on your list. For example: (John 3:16) "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” A possible prayer from this scripture verse might be: “Father I know that you loved _________ so much that you sent your Son into the world to die for him/her. I pray that he/she might put their faith in Him so that they would not die, but have eternal life.”
May the Lord bring your prayers to fruition and reveal to you His mighty hand.
