Too many people go to church but never really grow spiritually. What a shame! Worship gatherings are important, as are community and serving. They all form a vital link in the chain of personal growth.
Yet, there is a secret to growing deeper. And there is no substitute for this secret. Jesus said, But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6) We are convinced that true spiritual depth is grounded in Personal Spiritual Disciplines.
What are Personal Spiritual Disciplines?
Reading the Bible daily, along with meaningful prayer and Christ-centered meditation are the basics. We also encourage journaling and even fasting as additional disciplines that add still more depth. Our goal is to have every person connected with KPC develop daily spiritual disciplines.
How do you get started?
Well, first of all acknowledge that the question is a fundamentally human one. The disciples themselves, recognizing their poverty in this area of life, said to Jesus, “Teach us to pray.” (Luke 11:1) ) We all start at the same place . . . we don’t really know how to do it, but we can ask Christ Himself to guide us. |

Other Resources
Below we have listed several resources that we’ve invested our own lives in. Click on each resource and you’ll get a description of the book. Still, don’t be limited by what you see below. There are devotional guides for teens, young couples, singles, older adults, those recovering from divorce, parents of teenagers, businessmen or women, . . . you name it. We’d suggest you go into your nearest Christian Bookstore and browse around a bit. Ask someone to help you find a Bible or a devotional guide (or both!) and they’ll be glad to help you out.
